This is the support page for global storms and global storms pro. Most application problems can be solved by either restarting the device or reloading the application from the app store. If neither of these resolves your problem, and it is not addressed in this FAQ, then please email support. This is our general support line, so if you email us please tell us which app is causing the problem, whether it is the iOS or Android version, and as much detail as you can about the problem.
Why has the available satellite imagery changed?
We access a variety of satellite providers and they occasionally change which imagery they make available. We have no control over this and can only adapt as availability changes.
Why can’t I customize my start menu in global storms?
After several years of field experience with this feature, we’ve found that under certain circumstances it can cause the app to become unstable, so we have removed it to improve the general app experience. We make no commitments regarding whether any particular app features will be available and we reserve the right to make app changes at any time.
My subscription renewed automatically. Why doesn't my iOS device recognize it?
This can happen occasionally after an app update or iOS update. Please select "Restore Purchases" from the settings menu.
Why doesn't climate imagery show for some dates?
There are gaps in NASA's imagery database. Unfortunately there is no way to know this in advance and make those date selections unavailable.
Why do some text storm updates extend beyond the edge of the page.
NOAA often uses a fixed-width font for storm updates and local statements which does not scale on a mobile browser. Try viewing the content in landscape orientation.
Which mobile devices are supported?
The iOS version is universal and will operate on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad running iOS 11 or later. If you are using an iPhone or iPod Touch, some pages will view better in landscape orientation. The Android version will operate on any phone or tablet running Android 5.0 or later.
GDPR allows me to change my consent about viewing advertisements. How do I do this?
If you previously consented to viewing targeted ads in global storms, select "Remove Ads" from the settings icon (iOS) or the menu (Android) on the opening page. If you didn't consent originally and now wish to pay for the app by viewing ads, cancel your subscription on your device.
